Afro Pick Sculpture Sends GI Jane 2 Star, Jada Pinkett-Smith, Into Rage. Husband, Will Smith, Slaps Mayor!

New Orleans – New Orleans mayor, Latoya Cantrell, unveiled a new sculpture in her city to commemorate Juneteenth, the day slaves were told they were to be freed. The sculpture was of a 15 foot afro pick that cost taxpayers $7.2 million.

Many people were outraged. One Twitter user suggested that, “Harriet Tubman did not risk her life to be honored by a plastic dollar store afro pick that was made in China.”

Jada Pinkett-Smith, the bald, part-time wife to slap-happy, Will Smith, was outraged. She had this to say about the sculpture:

Jada Pinkett-Smith: “A damned afro pick?! That’s how you honor slaves in New Orleans? With a 15 foot piece of plastic? Not all slaves had hair you know! Look at me. I’m as bald as the day is long! How you expect me to get behind that thing? Damn crackas! Whatchyoo gonna do next? Put up a painting of watermelon and fried chicken? Ya’ll racist mothafuckas, dat’s what you is! Will, get your bony ass over there and bitch-slap that racist mayor. Now!”

Will Smith: “Yes dear.”

  1. Gotta say I like that “pick” this is what our afro bros and sis’s have been using for decades to coif their “do’s”. Yet it had tremendous cultural significance Then again as a sculptor I’m ‘weird’ or maybe just considerate, that way. Also I abhorred totally what the City of New Orleans did with the defilement and removal of CSA World Heritage Legacy Statues within the last several years, All is not forgiven! bring back our artworks and restore them to their proper plinths.

    1. well frank, i used a pick on my permed hair (not afro style) to fluff it up. i’m white. in fact, i may still have it !
