Rachel Maddow Taking Break from MSNBC. Taking Over “Carter” Role in Next Season of Yellowstone.

New York – Rachel Maddow will be on hiatus from MSNBC indefinitely. Maddow has been offered the role of “boy,” real name, Carter, on the hit television series, Yellowstone. Carter is the “adopted son” of characters Rip Wheeler and Beth Dutton.

We asked the actress who plays Beth Dutton, Kelly Reilly, what she thinks about the switch of the actors:

“It’s not too surprising. Next season, we need Carter to be a bit more grown up, a bit more manly. Maddow fits the bill nicely. There’s no mistaking her for a man, that’s for sure. And her voice is deeper, right where we need it to be. I think with a little more makeup, she can look as macho as Rip wants his adopted son to be. This shouldn’t be a problem at all.”

Kevin Costner was rumored to have a role in picking Maddow to play Carter. He was quoted as saying:

“We need a boy with a flat ass and a deep voice, not that pudgy little wuss we had last season. I’m sure she’ll be fine.”

Filming begins next week in Montana.
